Beauty Pageant Standards

As the country continues to struggle internally with race and ethnicity, it's exciting to see some people breaking the barriers. Chicago's ABC affiliate reported on a American Somali who competed in the Miss Minnesota Pageant wearing a Hijab.

Although, 19 year old Halima Aden came in 15th in the competition, she made waves in rebuilding relations as a Muslim American and set a new standard for beauty pageant contestants.
